Dr. Nakita Savant began academic coaching in 1998, which included coaching faculty starting in 2005. After many years as a Doctor of Education Leadership and teaching in higher education, public speaking, editing, research and publication, Nakita reconnected with her first love: Human Psychology. She became a Master Practitioner of Humanistic, Neurolinguistic Psychology and Hypnosis which made her professional coaching official, and started her private practice as a Therapeutic Coach. The business name "Savant Coaching" followed and was established in 2016.
Nakita Savant was raised by a single mother in Saint Cloud, Minnesota in the early 70’s. In 1983, her mother was hit by a drunk driver which changed her life forever. Through her mother’s healing journey, she found holistic health practices which helped shape her life and career.
Nakita attained her bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Master’s degree in English and Women’s Studies by 2001 She earned her doctorate degree in Higher Education Leadership in 2006. She worked in student services and served as an associate Dean of Faculty, until becoming a part-time professor at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and full-time Curriculum Specialist at Capella University.
In 2016, she became a certified Therapeutic Coach®, a Master Practitioner of Neurolinguistics and Hypnotherapist. She resigned from Capella to build her private practice in NLP and Coaching. Today, she continues her private practice in Therapeutic Coaching® and teaches at a Health Sciences University.
Nakita is known for her creativity and speaking from the heart. Nakita is married and raising 3 children, a cat and a dog (and soon will have several chickens!) in South Minneapolis.
